Every since I was little, I was told, “don’t cheat” or “don’t copy”. In college they called it PLAGIARISM! The infamous “P” word. Even as a graphic designer and marketing consultant, rule number one is don’t steal anyone else’s work and pass it off as your own. I am pretty sure, I was not the only one taught this, graphic designer or not. So, that brings me to my question, why in the HECK did Trump’s wife Melania feel it was “ok” to get up on that red Republican stage and say almost word for word in part of her speech what our current First Lady, Michelle Obama said back in 2008? Well, the answer is easy, she was clueless! That’s right, I don’t care how much she said she wrote that speech, she didn’t. This is why we have speech writer. Now, Hindsight is 20/20. If she knew she was going to get the backlash she received after the speech, she probably wouldn’t have told the world she wrote it.
So, where and who is her speech writer, I am pretty sure he probably thought this was a wonderful idea, I mean really who would ever remember a speech from 2008? This entire thing was hilarious and embarrassing. Melania was already sounding like she was reading word for word from the teleprompter. In my opinion (to which I am entitled ) she had zero emotion and you could tell she was out of her comfort zone. I mean really, who in the heck can identify with a billionaire? On another note, apparently no one in Trump’s Camp feels as though anyone should be fired. Somehow, they think this is totally cool. So, what are the take-aways. Well, here they are:
- Don’t copy, don’t cheat and don’t steal anyone’s work
- Hire reputable and trustworthy people
- Remember, there is ALWAYS someone watching
What are your thoughts on the wonderful speech that was delivered last night? Let us know…
